Happy birthday to you, happy birthday to you, happy birthday dear Joe, happy birthday to you.”

*****

Welcome to this week’s episode. In that introduction, you heard me singing happy birthday, very poorly. And that’s because I’m going to be talking about the Happy Birthday song today. In this episode, I’ll tell you who wrote it and a little story behind what’s happened in recent years with that song. In any case, we’ll discuss the expression piece of cake as well as go through a few pronunciation exercises. So stay tuned.

Let’s go ahead and start with a joke.

Question: Why did the birthday cake go to the doctor?

Any ideas?

Answer: Because he was feeling crummy.
